What Lovers is

Lovers is a US adult retailer, a lingerie and sexual wellness chain with an online store, that runs an affiliate program for creators who promote its products. The program pays a percentage commission on qualified sales, tracks them through the Impact network, and pays once a month by what the page calls a "USD Direct Banking Deposit". The page mentions no fee to join. Applicants must be over 18 and able to receive products within the US or Canada, and the page says outright who it wants: "We encourage Sex Workers, Sex Educators, Social Media Influencers, Writers, Bloggers, Activists, and Comedians to apply."

The company's about page says it was founded in 1981 by a mother and daughter, that the first 3 stores opened just outside Seattle within 14 months of each other, and that it is now "an omni channel business that operates 41 stores in five states" with a shopping site at loversstores.com. The homepage describes the same business as running 40 adult stores across five states, so the store count differs between the two pages. The about page also says the company bought two chains in the LA area between 2000 and 2004 and added stores in Texas and Tennessee in 2012.

How earning works here

The program is a referral arrangement in three steps, as the page lists them. An applicant fills out an application, which the page calls "quick & easy". The company then provides graphics for advertising, and adds that it also encourages affiliates "to promote them in your own unique way". After that the affiliate earns a commission on every qualified sale.

The page names the channels. Affiliates can advertise on "their personal websites, blogs, and social media accounts". They can also reach email subscribers "by featuring custom links, discount codes, and promotional banners". A site is one option among several here, so a creator who works only through social accounts or a mailing list is inside the stated terms. The benefits list says affiliates receive personalized discount codes, promotional banners and links, and are the first to know about new product launches and campaigns.

Tracking and reporting run through Impact. The page promises "real-time sale tracking through the Impact Network" and says affiliates "can access insights into their earned commissions directly from the Impact App Dashboard".

Approval depends on the applicant's content. The rule is "Content must be original and relevant to market our products." The page adds that individuals who steal content from other creators to populate their own content "will not be approved". It also sets a priority among applicants: "We work with a diverse assortment of creators and prioritize those who are LGBTQIA+, Disabled, or of color." That, and the naming of sex workers among the people encouraged to apply, means the program addresses adult creators directly.

What an affiliate has to sell is the retailer's range. The program page points to over 1,500 adult pleasure products in the online store, an exclusive line of Lovers sex toys and essentials, a free rewards program for shoppers, and what it calls hundreds of free sexual health resources on its blog and social media. The homepage lists toys for anal play, BDSM, couples, dildos and masturbators, and its FAQ says the range suits beginners as well as people with more experience. The catalog covers both toys and lingerie, so a lingerie account and a toy reviewer can both work with it.

Shipping rules limit who can buy through an affiliate's link. The homepage FAQ says Lovers ships throughout the United States "to various approved states", does not currently ship to Alabama or US territories, and also ships to Canada, where delivery takes between 5 business days and 2 weeks depending on destination. The help page says the store does not ship to prisons, schools or churches, and that it ships from a dozen warehouses across the United States, so a larger order may arrive in several parcels under one shipping charge.

Discretion is a selling point an affiliate can pass on. The site says orders are packed in unmarked boxes or envelopes with the shipper listed as "Innov8 Solutions", and that card charges appear under an Innov8 name instead of the store's. The help page names Innov8 Solutions, Inc. of Las Vegas as the processor of card charges.

The store's sales terms affect how many referred orders stay sold, which matters because returned and canceled orders earn nothing. The help page says "All sales are final", that toys and intimate apparel cannot be exchanged, and that a wrongly shipped item can be exchanged within 60 days with a return authorization number. A customer who changes their mind can send back an unopened box for credit less a restocking fee.

Money and rules

The payout model is a flat percentage of each qualified sale, paid monthly, with the page stating "There's no cap to what Lovers Affiliates can earn!" as its own pitch. The payout rail is a bank deposit in US dollars, and no other method is named. In October 2026 the program page gives the rate twice, as "a 15% commission on sales" and as "a 15% commission on every qualified sale".

The timing rules are short:

  • Referral period: "Lovers Affiliates can earn commissions within a 30-day referral period."
  • Payment timing: "Successful transactions are paid within 20-days of the completed campaign month".
  • Exclusions: commissions are not provided for "canceled orders, returned items, failed customer credit checks, breach of program terms, duplicate orders, or out of stock items".

Eligibility is stated in one line: "Affiliates must be over 18 years of age and must be able to receive products within the US or Canada." The program page does not state a minimum payout threshold.

The exclusions are where an affiliate carries risk. A sale that is later returned or canceled earns no commission, and an order for an item that turns out to be out of stock earns none either, so the affiliate's income depends on the store's stock and the customer's follow-through as well as on the click.

Who it suits and who it does not

Lovers suits a creator, sex worker, educator, writer or blogger with an audience interested in adult toys, lingerie or sexual wellness, and with followers mostly in the United States or Canada. The page's own list of who should apply is direct about that. The approval rule on original content favors someone who makes their own reviews, posts and guides. The retailer's physical stores and its history since 1981 are points an affiliate can mention to readers.

It suits someone who can take a deposit in US dollars to a bank account, since that is the only payment method the page states, and who is comfortable with a monthly cycle in which commissions arrive within 20 days after the campaign month closes.

It does not pay a creator or cam model for their own content. The program pays for sales only. It is also a weaker fit for an affiliate whose audience lives mainly outside the United States and Canada, given the shipping description, or in Alabama or a US territory, where the store says it does not currently ship. An affiliate who cannot receive products in the US or Canada falls outside the eligibility line altogether.

One caveat is the 30-day referral period: a reader who takes longer than that to buy earns the affiliate nothing. Another is the exclusion list, which leaves canceled, returned and out-of-stock orders unpaid.
