What CamSharks is

CamSharks is a recruitment, training and support studio for adult webcam models, working on the Streamate network of webcam sites, which its terms call "our parent company." The terms describe the service as "recruitment, training, account setup assistance and ongoing support," and the about page dates it to 2009 (the how-it-works page and the model guide carry a heading that says since 2003). It is run as CamSharks, LLC, with a studio brand called CamSharksLIVE. It takes female and trans performers, female-female and male-female couples and groups of 3 or more, but not single males. Joining costs nothing ("SIGNUP NOW, IT'S FREE!"), the studio takes a service fee, and the terms pay models a percentage of applicable sales in weekly paychecks, at one rate for approved US models and a lower one for international accounts. Applicants must be 18 or older, or 19 in Canada.

The studio is not a site with its own audience. It opens the model's account on Streamate's system under the CamSharks studio, helps with setup and approval, and then coaches her, so the traffic and the show software belong to the network and the studio's role is onboarding, training and support.

How earning works

The earner sells live webcam time. The FAQ calls cam models live video chat exhibitors who stream adult shows from home "in a per-minute based, premium pay-per-view setting," and says each model sets her own per-minute rate. The model guide lists solo, couple, group and private shows, and names tips, private shows, group shows and sales of premium content as the income channels. The home page adds the tools inside the show software: tip menus, recording live shows, picture sets for sale in the model's own fan club, and remote-controlled toys run from the showroom. Everything works in the browser with nothing to download, and viewers can watch from a computer, tablet, phone or some smartwatches.

Approved models are featured on CamSharksLIVE and the other sites of the network whenever they log in, which the FAQ presents as access to the network's existing customer traffic, so a model needs no social media following to start. New models get preferred placement for 4 weeks in the new model category, according to the FAQ, and the studio says it will advise on typical busy days and times when she builds her schedule.

There is a second earning line for a model who brings her own fans. As of October 2026 the terms say customers she sends through her special live show link, who do not already have an account on the network, can earn her "up to 70% payout for every live show of yours they view and 20% of every other girls live show they view for LIFE." The terms also mention contests and bonus day payouts during the year.

The schedule is the model's. The site says she can work full or part time, keep a 9 to 5 job and fit shows around it, and work from home. It repeats in many places that individual earnings vary, and a separate disclaimer says the studio "does not guarantee any specific income, financial result, customer activity level or level of success" and that testimonials and earnings examples are "not typical."

Training is the studio's main product. The FAQ describes free self-paced text files and a step-by-step video series for every new model, and live one-on-one Zoom training for models working at least 25 hours a week; the sign-up page also speaks of free one-on-one advanced telephone training for full-time models. Support comes by email, text, Zoom and live phone, from team members the home page says have at least 10 years of experience in webcam model exhibitions, and the about page says the founder has over 25 years of experience training cam models and running webcam studios. The FAQ promises a reply to questions within 24 hours. These are the studio's own statements.

Signing up starts with what the about page calls a "streamlined quick 2-minute cam model application." The form asks for the legal name as it appears on the model's ID, gender or couple type, ethnicity, body type, hair color, contact details, two or three nickname options (no part of the legal name may be used), sexual preference, display age, birth date, country of residence and, for US residents, the state. A representative then sends instructions to finish the account, payment details and age verification, and the FAQ says approval usually comes within 24 hours of the documents arriving.

Equipment is modest. The guide suggests an i7 processor with 4 GB of RAM or more for better video, says most computers with a decent connection will do, and says a phone can broadcast live. It names a camcorder with a capture card or a Logitech C920 webcam for HD and allows a laptop's internal camera until the model upgrades. The how-it-works page recommends a cable connection with at least 2 mbps of upload speed, and at least 1 profile picture must be uploaded before approval.

For couples, both partners apply at the same time, each for an individual account, and name the partner's account in the comments. Once both are approved, the accounts are linked so they can stream alone or together; the same applies to female-female pairs and groups.

Money and rules

The pay model is a percentage of the model's sales on the network, paid weekly. The terms say chargebacks, holdbacks and surprise deductions are not applied under the current account terms, so a model is paid for every show, and that the pay stats show the actual amount of the weekly check, with "no token conversions to try and figure out." The FAQ lists the payout methods: direct ACH deposit every week, online payment providers such as Masspay and Cosmo, a bank wire, or a bank check by FedEx or regular US mail. The terms read in October 2026 carry the figures: approved US models currently receive 32% on applicable sales, international accounts 25%, and CamSharks charges a 3% service fee for its services and training, "subject to the current account terms."

The FAQ says the studio accepts models from all over the world who speak English fluently and can prove their age, and that it does not hire models from Thailand, Philippines, Russia, Romania, Colombia, Venezuela, Nigeria, Indonesia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine.

To be approved a model submits a government-issued photo ID (a state driver's license or ID card, a passport or a national identification card) and a document proving her city and state or country of residence. A model can block states, cities, zip codes and towns from viewing her show and may wear masks, wigs or other disguises. On tax, the FAQ says a model is an independent contractor who receives a 1099 form each year, and the terms say it comes from Streamate.

The account clause matters. By signing up, a model gives CamSharks the exclusive right to open her account on Streamate and its affiliated sites, agrees not to create an account there outside the studio, and accepts that any such account will be maintained "in perpetuity" by CamSharks; the studio does not release models to other studios. She remains free to open accounts on any other webcam network.

Who it suits and who it does not

CamSharks suits a newcomer who wants someone to set up a Streamate account, teach the work and answer the phone, and who will stream from home on her own timetable. The FAQ says appearance does not matter and that it has working models from 18 to 65 years old, a useful signal for mature performers, and trans performers and couples are on the form. A model working 25 hours a week or more gets the live Zoom training. The weekly pay, the long list of payout methods and the no-chargeback terms suit a model who needs steady, predictable income.

It is a narrower fit for others. A solo male cannot join, and neither can applicants from the countries on the FAQ's exclusion list. The published rates are what the model receives through the studio, and the exclusivity clause ties her Streamate presence to CamSharks for good, so a model who may later want to work on Streamate independently should read the terms first.
