What Paxum is

Paxum is a payment account for people paid in the adult industry: webcam models, studios, freelancers, publishers and affiliates. It is run by Paxum Bank Limited, a financial institution licensed in the Commonwealth of Dominica. It does not pay anyone for content or traffic. Its job is to receive money from the platforms and networks that do, hold it, and send it on. The site says there are no sign-up fees, no monthly fees and no minimum balance required, and it positions itself as a payment platform that "welcomes adult industry professionals without prejudice". Accounts come in personal and business versions, and the sign-up pages say the forms are straightforward and that applicants are "pre-approved within 24 hours".

How earning works here

Paxum sits at the end of the earning chain. A performer or studio is paid by a cam platform, an affiliate network or a client, and Paxum is where that money lands. The webcam models page says Paxum has built relationships with top cam platforms and cam studios, and tells models they can receive payment from every platform or studio they work with, accumulate it in one Paxum payment account and then withdraw by several routes. A second page, written for studios, says incoming and outgoing payments are managed in the same platform, which reduces the time spent on payment tasks.

The site has case-study pages for freelancers, publishers and affiliates, affiliate networks, webcam studios and webcam models. The studios page pitches Paxum as "cost-effective and time-saving convenience for Webcam Studio payroll management": studio owners receive payments from the cam platforms they promote and send "outgoing instant bulk payments to their worldwide performers, all within a matter of minutes." Its listed benefits are instant receipt of payments from top cam platform companies, instant bulk payments worldwide "for a flat fee per transaction", the ability to confirm performers' identity, and detailed statements for account management.

For business clients the home page lists mass wire transfers and mass EFT transfers to clients worldwide, payments to and from other Paxum users, and the promise to "Reduce your payout costs". That is the side an affiliate network or paysite uses to pay its own partners. The case-study pages carry testimonials from business customers, from JuicyAds, NewSensations and NScash, MojoHost, Zuzana Designs and YourPaysitePartner. One says "we pay our affiliates exclusively through Paxum"; another says Paxum "enables MojoHost's international clients to pay with ease quickly and at a low cost" and processes its wire withdrawals fast and reliably. These are customer quotes chosen by Paxum. The footer also links API documentation for developers.

The home page lays out the account in 3 steps: register, upload documents, and start sending and receiving payments. It then lists the ways money moves for an individual, starting with "Get paid for your work".

  • Wire transfers, to send and receive.
  • EFT, or local bank transfers, listed as "Available in 50+ countries in over 20+ Currencies".
  • P2P transfers, described as buying and selling goods and services with instant transfers to other Paxum clients.
  • Fund Any Card, which sends funds electronically to almost any MasterCard or China UnionPay card worldwide.
  • A Paxum Prepaid Card, to withdraw funds from ATMs worldwide and pay online or in local stores.

The site's navigation also lists a Paxum Prepaid Mastercard and a Paxum Prepaid UnionPay International Card as separate products, and a mobile app. The app works on Android and iOS, and lets a user check the balance, send transfers, start withdrawals and update the profile. Transfers to other account holders go out instantly, around the clock.

Account records are practical. Each currency has its own account, and the statement for each can be filtered by transaction, date range and keyword, and exported as CSV or PDF. A monthly statement can be exported from inside the account, and the app shows the most recent transactions. A user can attach up to 3 verified email addresses, and money sent to any of them lands in the same Paxum balance. A sent payment cannot be canceled. The FAQ says all transfers are instantly sent, and a payment sent in error means asking the recipient to return the funds.

Money and rules

Opening the account costs nothing: the studios page says "No sign-up fees, no monthly fees, no minimum balance required." The FAQ says there is no fee to request money, and that a "nominal receive fee" is charged when the request is fulfilled. Paxum keeps its fee figures on separate schedules for personal and business accounts, which it calls the complete, up-to-date list; the receive fee, the withdrawal fees and the per-transaction bulk payment fee are priced there rather than on the FAQ and case-study pages.

Verification is part of opening an account. The home page says to upload documents, and the profile FAQ is specific: "in order to remain verified an account must have a valid Proof of Identity and Proof of Address verified." Documents are uploaded inside the interface for compliance review, and removing a verified address before a new one is verified turns the account status to Limited until a valid document is approved. The studios page lists confirming performers' identity as a benefit for studios. The FAQ on profile changes says email addresses and phone numbers are verified by confirmation code, by email and by SMS respectively, and can be added or deleted at any time. Name changes are authorized only when there is valid supporting legal documentation. The username is required to log in and cannot be removed, and changing it can only start through the support ticket center.

On the legal side, the licenses page says Paxum Bank is chartered under the Offshore Banking Act No. 8 of 1996 of Dominica, which allows international business with non-resident personal and corporate clients. It says accounts are not subject to local taxes or exchange restrictions, and that funds in foreign currencies are transferred with no conversion to East Caribbean Dollars. The Financial Service Unit of Dominica is named as the body that monitors and regulates the bank, with "Strict adherence to capital adequacy and liquidity levels" required. The footer lists an anti-human trafficking statement and an AML statement. The registered address given is Centre Cross Lane, Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica.

Who it suits and who it does not

Paxum is built for anyone who gets paid by more than one adult platform and wants the money in one place before choosing how to take it out. A cam model paid by several sites, a studio sending bulk payments to its performers, and an affiliate paid by networks all fit the use the site describes. The separate currency accounts and the choice of wire, local bank transfer in 50+ countries, card funding and a prepaid card suit an earner who needs several ways to take money out.

It also has limits. It is a payment tool only: no discovery, no traffic and no clients come with it. A platform has to be willing to pay out to Paxum, and the "Get Paid From" section shows payers as logos rather than a list. The receive and withdrawal fees sit on the separate fee schedules, so the cost of each route is read there. Payments cannot be recalled once sent. And staying verified requires proof of identity and proof of address on file; a creator unwilling to share documents with a payment provider should know that before applying.
