What the business is

VOY Productions describes itself as an adult video production company located on Vancouver Island in Victoria, Nanaimo and Vancouver, British Columbia. It is a studio that hires performers and models for its own shoots, not a platform where you sell to fans. Its jobs page says it is "actively seeking talented women to join their team", and its FAQ says it shoots for a wide variety of web sites. The application is open to people 18 or older who live in the Vancouver, Victoria or Nanaimo area or are willing to travel.

The site is written for people in British Columbia, and its location pages push that angle hard. It calls the province progressive, and the Victoria page invites performers based there or willing to relocate to Vancouver Island. For an earner the point is simpler: this is a local production company that books shoots, and the site is its recruiting page.

How earning works here

The site is organized around job pages. The jobs page introduces the company as one that wants to hear from anyone who sees themselves as a performer, model or actress in adult film, and says it uses various terms for the roles, all pointing to the same opportunity. Below that sit job listings. One is titled as female adult video performers wanted in Victoria, and another covers Nanaimo. A separate page covers British Columbia as a whole, and the top navigation also points to Adult Models Wanted, a Frequently Asked Questions page, Adult Video and Film Projects and a Contact page.

What applying involves

The application is an online form. It asks the applicant a long run of questions about what they are willing to do, mostly as Yes, No or Maybe. Examples from the form include whether you have a location you would like to use for a shoot, whether you are willing to travel, and what role you prefer, with Submissive, Dominant and Switch as the choices. It also asks why you are interested in this kind of work, what you would most enjoy doing in front of the camera, whether you have questions, and how you found the company. The form invites you to be honest and says there is no right or wrong answer.

The form says that answering yes to a question means willingness to consider it, not agreement to do it, and puts it in capitals: "YOU SET THE LIMITS". It lists who the company is currently looking for: single females, female-female couples and female-male couples. Men face a stricter bar; the form says "We only hire males with previous experience and verifiable industry references." Contact fields cover stage names, phone, social media and an OnlyFans or Fansly link, so a creator who already sells content can show it.

It then asks for photos. The form has slots for 8 pictures and asks for at least one face shot and one full body shot, and it warns that very large image files can make the form error out; images must be under 5MB. Before sending, the applicant certifies being 18 years of age or older and being drug and disease free.

The point for a prospective performer is that the form is a screening tool and a list of boundaries in one. You state in advance what you will and will not do, and the company uses that to decide what to offer.

Shoots and day rates

The FAQ explains how pay works in plain terms. Payment is by the shoot, or occasionally a negotiated day rate, and the rate for a given shoot depends on who and what is involved in it. The site adds that day rates "generally pay a little less per shoot but are a good way to make a chunk of cash all in a single day". Asked whether a model will have to pay for anything, the FAQ answers "You will never have to pay for anything!" and says the only investment is a few hours of time.

The FAQ answers several questions a nervous first-timer would ask.

  • Is it okay to have never modeled before? The site says you have found the right place for your first time, that most of its models have never posed nude in front of a camera, and that it takes its time so you are always comfortable.
  • What if I am not pretty enough? The site says "We do not turn anyone away."
  • Where will my pictures and video be used? The site says it shoots for a wide variety of web sites, and that what is done with your pictures is under your control.
  • What if I want to stop? The site says you can end the shoot at any time if you are not comfortable and it will destroy any images.
  • Will I have to have sex with someone? The FAQ says no, not if you do not want to: some models only do solo shoots, others work only with a specific partner, and you tell the company what you want to do.
  • Can I bring a chaperone? The FAQ says yes, provided the other performers are fine with it and the chaperone does not interfere with production.
  • Where do shoots take place? The FAQ says the company uses a variety of locations, from a formal studio space to someone's home or an outdoor location, and that its photographers are willing to come to you if you cannot come to them.

Who owns the content

Rights are the main commercial term the pages state. The FAQ says that, generally speaking, once you have been paid, all rights to the photos and video belong to the company, and that this is negotiable on a shoot-by-shoot basis. It adds that the company usually has no problem with models using its content for personal non-commercial use. For a performer who wants to resell or repost their own scenes, that wording matters, and the negotiation point is the place to raise it before you shoot.

Other job boards

The site also carries a links page of other sites that offer adult industry jobs, for adult video performers, adult models, and erotic and fetish modeling. It asks visitors to check its own Adult Models Wanted page first. The sites it names include Adult Industry Canada, Adult Help Wanted, Jimmy Jam XXX, Fetti Models, Lust Jobs and Sexy Jobs.

Money and rules

The durable terms are a per-shoot payment, rights that pass to the company unless negotiated, and limits the performer sets in advance.

  • Pay. Based on the shoot: the FAQ says it depends on who and what is involved, and the site's article on porn jobs in British Columbia says pay rates vary depending on the role and the production company.
  • Day rates. Described as paying a little less per shoot but a way to earn a chunk of money in a single day.
  • Rights. All rights to the photos and video go to the company once you have been paid, negotiable on each shoot. Personal non-commercial use by the model is usually fine.
  • Stopping a shoot. You can end it at any time and the images will be destroyed.
  • Age and health. The application requires the applicant to certify being 18 years of age or older and drug and disease free. The site's general article on porn jobs in British Columbia says performers are tested for sexually transmitted infections before filming, sign contracts and must all have given consent; it is written about the province's industry rather than about this company's own terms.
  • Men. Only male applicants with previous experience and verifiable industry references are accepted. The FAQ says the company does not work with unproven male performers, and that the only way it will consider a new one is as one half of a male-female couple.
  • Costs. The FAQ says a model never has to pay for anything.

The site does not publish a rate, a payment method or when performers are paid.

Who it suits and who it does not

VOY suits a woman in or near Vancouver Island or the BC coast who wants to try adult modeling or video work and would rather deal with a small local company than a large platform. The FAQ speaks directly to first-timers, and the application form lets you set your own limits before anyone books you. That makes it a reasonable first conversation for someone with no portfolio.

It also suits someone who prefers day work to building a subscriber base. You are paid for the shoot and the company owns the footage, so there is no ongoing audience to maintain and no promotion to do. The trade-off is the flip side of that: because rights generally pass to the company on payment, you do not own the material, and you will not earn from its later sales unless you negotiate that term.

It suits less well anyone who needs a published rate before applying, since pay is settled shoot by shoot. It is also a poor fit for performers outside British Columbia who cannot travel, since the application is addressed to the Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo area, for men without industry references, and for anyone who wants to keep full control of their own content, since the default is that the company holds the rights.
