What ChatStyle is

ChatStyle (chatstyle.net) is a Japanese-language agency for chat ladies, the women who earn by talking with paying male members over video and text on live-chat sites. It is aimed at women who want to work from a studio near them or from home, and it pays the operator a percentage of what members spend. The agency describes itself as having more than 10 years of results, and its pages claim the number one sales position in the industry.

The business runs two ways of working under one name. Commute operators work in chat shops the agency lists across Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. At-home operators use their own computer or phone. Both groups can choose non-adult or adult chat, and the agency says every site it works with offers a non-adult option. Beyond operators, the same company recruits support staff for its shops and signs up agency owners who want to open their own live-chat business, for whom it says there is no membership or registration fee.

How earning works here

The earner sells time. A member connects to the operator on a live-chat site, and the operator is paid for the minutes the member stays connected. ChatStyle does not run its own member site in the sense of a single storefront. Its home page says it offers a choice of 8 major domestic sites, so the operator is placed on third-party live-chat platforms and the agency acts as the intermediary that recruits, trains and pays.

Two chat formats are described. Party chat puts several members in one room. The page says it has the lowest price per member but lets an operator collect several members at once, and that party chat uses one per-minute rate for both adult and non-adult. As listed in October 2026, the party rate is 30 yen per minute per member for commute operators and 40 yen for at-home operators. The page also works an hourly example with 7 members in the room for the whole 60 minutes. That hourly result is the agency's own illustration, not a typical result, and it should be read that way.

The other format is 2-shot chat, one member and one operator, where the member can also use a microphone. The home page lists separate per-minute rates for non-adult and adult 2-shot, each higher at home than in a shop. Two-way chat is an option on top of 2-shot in which the member's own video is shown too. The page says adult two-way costs the member close to double, while non-adult two-way pays the same as non-adult 2-shot. In October 2026 the listed rates per member run from 45 yen a minute for non-adult 2-shot when commuting to 160 yen for adult two-way at home.

The agency explains the pay logic plainly: the member's spend multiplied by a rate is the operator's reward. As of October 2026 it gives the rate as 30% for commute work and 40% for at-home work. It says there are no fines and no quotas of the kind found in nightlife work, and that the reward does not differ from an advertised hourly figure, because it is simply the share of what members used. Bonuses are paid on top, and the home page lists "各種ボーナスあり", various bonuses, without terms or amounts. The page also lists a first-time hourly guarantee scheme without giving its terms, and its FAQ says the agency cannot guarantee any fixed amount. The FAQ adds that hours, equipment, pay conditions and campaigns can differ from shop to shop.

Commute operators get a room, equipment and costumes. The home page lists soundproofed, fully private rooms and more than 100 free costumes, and the FAQ says the shop supplies the computer and streaming equipment, that many shops have private chat rooms, and that costumes are provided at the shop. A staff page adds that staff clean the rooms, tidy the cushions and camera positions, and wash the free rental costumes. Staff also check in at the start of a shift, watch for rule violations and support the operator during chat, and settle the daily payout at the end of a shift. The agency lists store blogs and room tours for shops in places such as Kawagoe, Tokorozawa, Motomachi, Sannomiya and Kagoshima, so an applicant can look at a room before applying.

At-home operators need a computer or smartphone, an internet connection and somewhere to stream. The FAQ says an at-home specialist staff team is available for questions at any time, and it says a commute operator can switch to at-home and the other way round by asking staff.

Discovery on the member side happens on the platforms themselves. The agency's own advice is about presentation: profile photo, self-introduction, the hours the operator is online, how she looks while waiting and how she steers the conversation. It says results differ by person and that amounts depend on days worked, hours on camera, the site used and the conversation.

On the referral side, the home page lists a friend referral bonus ("友達紹介 ボーナス") among its terms, with no amount or conditions given.

Money and rules

Rates. The operator's reward is a fixed share of what members spend, set higher for at-home work than for commute work, as the agency states on its home page. The per-minute amount depends on the format (party, 2-shot or two-way) and on whether the chat is adult or non-adult, and the adult 2-shot and two-way formats pay more per minute than the non-adult ones.

Payout. The home page lists a choice of pay day with a daily payment system ("日払い制"). The FAQ says daily payment is possible and that the payment method and conditions should be confirmed with the shop. It says methods differ by shop, with cash in hand or bank transfer given as examples, and the home page says some shops handle daily pay, with timing set by the shop.

No quota. The FAQ says there is no quota, and adds that rules can differ by shop, so the interview is the place to confirm.

Age and ID. The agency states that the job information is for people 18 or older and that people under 18 and high school students may not use it. The FAQ repeats that a high school student cannot apply even at 18 or over. An identity document is needed at the interview to confirm identity and age, and the accepted types differ by shop or service, so the FAQ tells applicants to confirm them before visiting. The home page adds that women in their 30s and older are active with the agency and that it puts extra effort into supporting them.

Content and privacy. Adult content is not required. Showing your face is not required either, and how a face is handled differs by site and shop, so the FAQ tells applicants to raise it at the interview. Operators do not need to give customers a real name, address, school or workplace, nor a personal phone number, LINE or social media account. The agency says no protection against being recognized is absolute, and suggests using a different photo from your own social accounts. The job is described as online only, with no meeting customers in person.

Taxes. The FAQ says whether you must file depends on income and other earnings and refers readers to the tax office or a tax professional. The agency gives no tax advice itself.

Trial and interview. The FAQ says applicants can ask for a trial day at a shop and can take an interview to just hear about the work, with no obligation to start afterward.

Who it suits and who it does not

ChatStyle fits a Japanese-speaking woman who wants an office with equipment and staff on site and wants to be paid the same day. Someone with no audience and no gear is the clearest match, because the commute shop supplies the room, the computer and the costumes, and a trial day is on offer. It also suits a woman who does not want to do adult chat, since the agency says it has built up non-adult know-how over more than 10 years and treats the non-adult option as a core part of its pitch. Part-timers and students who are 18 or over and not in high school are explicitly considered, with shift rules set shop by shop.

It is a narrower fit for an operator who wants to build her own brand or bring her own audience, because the earning happens on third-party sites and the agency's share of the member spend is part of the arrangement. The rates are percentages of member usage, so there is no floor. The agency itself says it cannot promise any amount, and the hourly examples depend on keeping 7 members in a party room for a full hour.

It is also Japanese only. The pages, the interview and the shop network are all in Japanese, so an operator who cannot get through an interview in Japanese has no route in.

Finally, the pay terms are shop-dependent. Payment method, bonus conditions and daily payout rules vary, so the figures above are the agency's headline numbers and the interview is where the real terms are set.
