What Pocket Work is

ポケットワーク (Pocket Work, also called Pocket Waku, at pokewaku.jp) is a Japanese-language agency for chat ladies and phone ladies, the women who earn by talking with male members of live-chat and phone-chat sites. It places women in its own chat offices or on an at-home basis, pays them a percentage of the money members spend, and says registration is free. Its pages call it the largest domestic company in the field and an official primary agency, and they say it has female support staff at 8 locations. The company page names 株式会社エムジー, in Shinjuku, Tokyo, as the operator, and describes Pocket Work as an agency for chat ladies and phone ladies. It is for adult women who can work in Japanese.

The navigation lists several ways to work under the one name: commute chat lady, at-home chat lady, virtual live chat lady, smartphone chat lady and phone lady. The pay terms below cover the chat and phone routes the site prices.

How earning works here

The earner is paid for the time a member is connected to her. The home page puts it simply: reward is earned only for the time you are connected to a man. The model is a revenue share: the operator receives a set percentage of what the man paid. For an at-home operator, the home page in October 2026 gives the basic reward rate as 50%, and adds that a rate-variation scheme then sets the at-home rate between 50 and 60%, depending on the points she earns in the month. The home page FAQ says showing one's face is a free choice and is never forced.

Commute work happens in the agency's offices. The support page lists 8 branches, Sapporo, Sendai, Shinjuku, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka, with the number of chat rooms at each, ranging from 21 at Sendai to 71 at Shinjuku. A separate recruiting page also lists a Kumamoto office. The Osaka page says the many rooms allow work without a reservation, at any time, and that this is why it welcomes once-a-week commuting, walk-in visits and arriving empty-handed. It says about half of its commute operators come once a week. The office staffs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and the page says you can work on holidays. It offers a one-day trial shift.

Staff support is a main feature. The support page says there are 70 or more female staff, most of whom worked as chat ladies themselves, available around the clock for work and for matters one could not raise with male staff. Help covers interview and consultation, makeup and costume choice, profile photos and performance. The page also gives its view on content: very aggressive adult performance may draw users briefly but they tire of it, and for stable earnings it recommends not overdoing adult content and building conversation skills. That is the agency's opinion.

The agency's chat types are priced as party chat, 2-shot chat, bidirectional chat and phone. The party chat figure assumes 5 people in the room. The table of maximum hourly figures is the agency's own, set at the highest level, and the simulator assumes bidirectional chat throughout and leaves out mail, posted videos and images. Some registered sites have further, finer reward rules.

At home, the home page says registration is free, takes three steps (apply, receive an ID, log in) and can start in as little as 30 minutes. It says at-home pay can arrive the next day at the earliest. Age verification runs through an ID check and a dedicated app, to which a text message points the applicant. A person who registered before with Pocket Work or VI-VO and has since withdrawn is told to use a re-registration form, answered 9:00 to 17:00.

Money and rules

Payout model. A revenue share on member spend, earned only while a member is connected, with a time-based waiting bonus on top for women who work in the offices. The home page FAQ says the agency takes no money from a woman at registration or at withdrawal, and that there are no quotas and no fines.

Payout. Pay can be taken daily. The Osaka page says full daily payment is possible at any hour with no conditions, and that reward and bonus can both be taken as daily pay. The Chitose branch page lists full daily pay for commuters and settlement the next day at the earliest for at-home operators, and says daily pay is handed over in cash in round amounts up to a daily ceiling, with the remainder sent together by bank transfer. In October 2026 the reward table lists same-day payment and next-day settlement as each available from 1,000円. The home page adds that the agency takes questions on tax returns and pay around the clock.

ID and age. The home page says registration requires an age check against an ID, that appearing on a live chat site under 18 is prohibited by law, and that the ID submitted must have been issued at 16 or older. It links a list of accepted documents. The Chitose page gives the entry condition as 18 or over, high school students excluded.

Rules. No quota or coercion is stated, but the Chitose branch page says that because the facilities are used, a minimum working time applies, as a guide about 6 hours a day, to be settled with branch staff. Use of the facilities there, chat rooms, amenities and showers, is free. Transport is subsidized up to a set amount, while round-trip fares, food and laundry are paid by the operator. The same page lists free costume lending, soundproof private rooms, a rest space and lodging for women who travel in to work for a short or long stay, support with running social media accounts, and withdrawal from the agency on the same day. It also says work on non-adult sites is possible.

Reward rates. As of October 2026 the pages give commute at 30% or more and at home at 50% or more. The Osaka page claims a real commute rate of 40% or more once the waiting bonus is counted.

Waiting bonus and other bonuses. The offer read in October 2026 is a waiting bonus of 1,000円 per hour logged in, with no cap, which the news page says has no conditions, and which the Osaka page presents as a time guarantee on top of reward. The pages also list interview transport money for commuters, a debut bonus, a newcomer special reward and tips from members. The reward table gives maximum hourly figures for each chat type and for phone work, higher at home than in the office. These are maximums, set by the agency at the highest level.

Referral. In October 2026 the reward table lists a friend reward, special reward, of up to 15,000円. Conditions are not shown.

Earnings claims. The Osaka page gives monthly averages by how often commuters come, from once a week to five times a week, and the averages of the monthly highs beside them. The news page lists a top-5 ranking for December 2025 and attributes the highest hourly figures to people who use social media to bring viewers to live chat. All are the agency's claims, not a promise.

Who it suits and who it does not

Pocket Work suits a Japanese-speaking woman with no audience who wants an equipped room in a big city, staff on site at any hour and an hourly waiting bonus that does not depend on members. A once-a-week visitor is explicitly welcomed. An experienced at-home operator can use the higher at-home rate and the rate-variation scheme. Someone who wants phone work will find it in the list, though only a maximum hourly figure is given.

The caveats are clear. Commute pay starts from a lower base rate than at-home pay, and the higher real rate the Osaka page claims depends on counting the waiting bonus. Large figures on the pages are maximums or top rankings, and the same page says high earners use social media. Phone work gets only a maximum hourly figure. And it is a Japanese service with an office network in 8 places, so a woman outside those cities has the at-home route only.
