What this is
ChatWork, shown on its pages as WERK.SEXCHATROOM.nl and CHATWORK.nl and also called WorkChat, is a Dutch-language job site for people who answer sexting messages for pay. It is a text chat operator job, not a cam site, though it offers webcam broadcasting on the same account as a faster way to earn. Registration is free, there is no contract and an operator can stop whenever they want. The pages call the business a reliable chat work operator since 2008 ("betrouwbare chatwerk operator sinds 2008"). All of the page text is in Dutch.
The employer's pitch is a work-from-home side job with your own hours. The site is looking for men and women of 18 and older, and every account has to be verified with a passport or driving license. The headline on the front page puts the whole offer in one line: "verdien geld met (18+) chatberichten", earn money with 18+ chat messages.
How earning works here
The core of the job is replying to messages. The site explains that with a ChatWork account you can work anywhere: you receive sexchat messages on your account, and you are paid for each message you answer ("Je krijgt geld voor elk beantwoord bericht"). Those messages come from users aged 18 and over. The operator receives them on a profile they have created on WorkChat, and the site says you can chat about all kinds of subjects but will also get sexually tinted messages. The task is to keep the conversation going, to keep it exciting and fun, and to answer creatively. The earnings page says the same in fewer words: earn money per answered message, and "Wees creatief, verdien meer!", be creative, earn more.
So the unit of pay is the answered message, not time logged in and not a share of what the customer spends. That matters for planning: an operator earns while messages arrive and are answered, and the site ties higher earnings to creativity rather than to a rate tier or a bonus scheme. The recruiting text asks directly whether the applicant is creative and can hold fun and exciting sexting conversations, and it repeats the advice to answer sexting messages creatively under the anonymity point. The work is done under the operator's own profile, which is what the site means by answering discreetly.
The site lists the working conditions as a short set of promises:
- Your own working hours, so you choose when and for how long you work.
- Work wherever you like: from home, on the bus or in the park.
- A laptop or mobile phone, which is all the site says you need to answer the sexting messages.
- Anonymous: you answer messages discreetly with your own profile.
- In the site's words, "Elke week betaald": paid every week, automatically once the balance passes a set threshold.
The job is pitched as part-time or full-time remote work, and the site says you decide how long you want to work and should work at the times that suit you best. It also sums the offer up in its own bullet list: fast payout, no contract, since 2008, your own working hours, work from home, a perfect side job and broadcasting via webcam. It claims you earn a lot of money quickly with fun conversations, and invites the reader with "Iets voor jou? Probeer het!", meaning is this for you, try it. None of those claims comes with a figure for text work.
The second route is webcam, which has its own "cam werk" section on the site. The front page asks "Webcam aan?" (webcam on?) and says you can earn money straight away by broadcasting via webcam. The site claims this earns "4X zo snel" (four times as fast). In October 2026 the site claims "Bij het uitzenden met de webcam verdien je een vast bedrag per uur, dit loopt snel op tot €20 per uur!" (when broadcasting on webcam you earn a fixed amount per hour, which quickly rises to €20 per hour). Both are the site's own claims. The pay basis changes with the route: text pays per answered message, webcam pays a fixed hourly amount. The site does not publish the starting webcam rate.
Signing up gives a €10 bonus, according to the page as read in October 2026 ("Wanneer je je aanmeldt krijg je een €10 bonus"). It sits in the section that answers when an operator gets paid, alongside the payout threshold and the note that earnings show in the account straight away.
Operators can see in their account how much they have earned. The front page says you can see straight away how much money you have made in your ChatWork account, and the earnings page is a login for that, by email and password: log in to view your earnings online. The same page tells new operators to verify their ChatWork account and enter their bank details so that automatic payouts can run. Signing up happens through the website itself, by the "aanmelden" (sign up) link that appears on every page.
Money and rules
Payout is weekly and automatic, to the operator's bank account, once the balance passes a threshold. As of October 2026 the earnings page words it as "Uitbetaling is automatisch voor bedragen hoger dan €50", payout is automatic for amounts above €50, and the front page repeats the same threshold in its own section on when an operator gets paid. To receive it, the operator must verify their ChatWork account and enter bank details, so the payout route the pages describe is a payment to the operator's bank account. The site's word for it is automatic: once the account is verified and the bank details are in, the pages describe payment as following on its own. The site does not publish a per-message rate for text work.
Rules the pages do state: registration is free and there is no contract, the work is for men and women of 18 and over, the customers sending the messages are 18+ users, and each account must be verified with a passport or driving license ("Elk account moet worden geverifieërd met een paspoort of rijbewijs"). The operator can stop whenever they like, which the site states in the same sentence as the free registration. The pages and the work they describe are in Dutch.
Who it suits and who it does not
ChatWork suits a Dutch speaker who wants text-only chat work with no schedule, no contract and no cost to start, and who wants something that can run from a laptop or phone anywhere. The front page promises a bonus on signing up, and says accounts above the payout threshold are paid out automatically every week, so payment is not something to request. An operator with a webcam and an appetite for broadcasting has a second route on the same account, paid by the hour rather than by the message, and the site presents it as the quicker one.
The limits are just as plain. The site publishes no per-message rate, and its webcam line gives its hourly figure as the level the amount "loopt snel op tot" (quickly rises to), not as the starting rate. The payout threshold means a part-time operator needs to build a balance before the first payout. The ID check, with a passport or driving license, is required for every account, which rules out anyone unwilling to show ID, and a reader who does not write Dutch well will struggle with conversations that are meant to be creative and fun in that language.
