What Directthuiswerk-chat is
Directthuiswerk-chat, which calls itself a "Chatcentrale" (chat center), recruits home-based chat operators who answer erotic text messages from customers. It is written for Dutch speakers aged 18 or older, and its offer list advertises earnings per processed message, paid weekly. The work is text only: the site says no webcam and no phone calls are involved, and the operator stays anonymous.
The company gives a Zoetermeer address on its chat operator contact page. It describes itself as "een betrouwbare en ervaren werkgever" (a reliable and experienced employer). Besides the operator job, its menu names a promoter program ("Wij zoeken ook promoters! Meld je nu aan!"), a "Medium gezocht" page and a "Sexverhalen Gezocht" page, which by their titles recruit a psychic medium and writers of sex stories. The chat operator job is the one the site describes in most detail.
How earning works
The job is described on its own page, "Wat moet je doen als Chatoperator?". The operator answers messages from the company's customers. The site states that this is done "namens fictieve, niet bestaande vrouwen" (on behalf of fictional, non-existent women). Customers "willen een chat-fantasie beleven" (want to experience a chat fantasy), and the operator's task is to give them that. The operator therefore writes as a character the company provides, not as themselves and not as a personal brand.
Three details on that page shape the day-to-day work. First, it is a team effort: the operator works "met een heel team van collega's" (with a whole team of colleagues), and "belangrijke informatie wordt bijgehouden in logboeken" (important information is kept in logbooks). So the conversations are handled as a shared account, and an operator picks up context that others have written down. Second, the operator "blijft zelf volledig uit het zicht van de klanten" (stays completely out of customers' sight). Third, the home page repeats that the work consists of erotic messages and that no webcam or calling is part of it.
The home page lists what the company offers in return:
- "Een goed lopende chat" (a well-running chat), meaning customer traffic is supplied by the company and the operator does not recruit or advertise.
- "Extra werkzaamheden zoals het maken van profielen" (extra tasks such as creating profiles).
- "Vrije inlog 24 uur per dag" (free login around the clock), so there are no fixed shifts on the page.
- "Goede verdiensten per verwerkt bericht" (good earnings per processed message).
- "Persoonlijke ondersteuning tijdens werk uren via skype contact" (personal support during work hours by Skype).
- Weekly payment, from a stated minimum amount.
Pay is therefore per processed message. The menu has a "Verdiensten?" (earnings) item and the home page carries the heading "Verdiensten bij ons als Chatoperator?", with the application form directly beneath it.
The application is a form on the home page. It asks for name, e-mail address, Skype name and a motivation, and it asks whether the applicant has experience as a chat operator, answered yes or no. The form also works as a writing test. Under the motivation field it sets out a handful of sample customer messages, each with its own answer box: a new customer posting a phone number and asking to be messaged on an app, a customer complaining that a 1000-credit package is far more than anyone would buy, a customer pushing for a meeting, and an exchange where the customer grows impatient with vague promises. Those samples show what the work is in practice: replying in character to paying customers who buy credits, and keeping the conversation on the chat. A separate contact form on the chat operator page takes name, e-mail and a message.
Money and rules
The job pays per processed message, and the money is paid weekly. The home page, as read in October 2026, lists these terms.
Payment: the home page lists "Betaling per week vanaf 50 euro", payment per week from 50 euros. The site does not say how the money is sent.
Rate: described as "goede verdiensten per verwerkt bericht" (good earnings per processed message). The site does not publish the amount.
Volume: "Je verwerkt minimaal 250 berichten per week!" The operator processes at least 250 messages per week. This is a requirement in the list of what the company asks for, so it is the one hard workload figure on the site.
Age: "Ben je 18 jaar of ouder". The notice at the bottom of the offer repeats that this concerns erotic messages and that the operator must be 18 or older.
Language: "Goede beheersing van Nederlandse taal. Zowel je spelling als grammatica." Surinamese Dutch is allowed ("Surinaamse ook toegestaan").
Equipment: "In het bezit van een goed werkende computer/laptop". Nothing else, no webcam and no phone.
Character: "Gemotiveerd en enthousiast", "Nauwkeurigheid in je werk" (accuracy) and "Je komt je afspraken na" (you keep your appointments).
Anonymity: the operator "blijft wel volledig anoniem" (stays fully anonymous).
Address: Fokkerstraat 32, 2722NK Zoetermeer, on the chat operator contact page.
Who it suits
The job suits an adult Dutch speaker, including one who writes Surinamese Dutch, who wants a text-only job from a computer at any hour. The 24-hour login means there is no shift roster to fit around, which can help a parent, a student or someone with irregular days. The promise of anonymity and of no webcam or calls is the main draw for people who want no face or voice involved, and for people who do not want to be reachable by customers. Personal support through Skype is a plus for a beginner, and the form asks about experience without making it a requirement on the page.
The caveats are specific. The 250 messages per week minimum is a fixed commitment that rules out a very occasional operator, and the home page frames the job for someone "niet bang om hard te werken" (not afraid of hard work). The per-message rate is not printed, so an applicant weighs the job on the unit of pay and the weekly payment alone. Because the operator writes as fictional women, someone who is uncomfortable with that kind of role-play will not find another format here, as there is no profile of their own, no audience to build and no way to bring existing followers. It is Dutch only, and a person who wants an employer with a published pay scale will find only a unit of pay and a weekly threshold.
