What Koedake is
こえだけっ (Koedake) is a Japanese-language recruiter of "virtual chat ladies", abbreviated VC, for live chat sites. A virtual chat lady performs with her voice only, speaking as an original character, which the page compares to anime voice acting and VTubing. The site is in Japanese and recruits women aged 18 or over. It says there is no upper age limit, the first step to apply is a LINE message, and, in its words, the job can be started "お金も時間もかけずに" (without spending money or time).
The company describes itself as a pioneer: it says it was among the first in the live chat industry to specialize in "virtual" services. That is the site's own claim. It also says the virtual chat lady job is "人気急上昇中" (rapidly growing in popularity) among women, again in its own words.
How earning works
The central idea is stated in the opening paragraphs. The worker takes the place of a face-on-camera chat performer by using a character, and the only thing she needs is her own voice. The page puts it this way: 「出演するのに必要なのは自分の声だけ」 (all you need to appear is your own voice). Customers reach the live chat site over the internet from all over the country, and the page argues that, unlike a night venue or a maid café where the number of visitors is limited, an online room can gather an unlimited number of customers.
Money comes from how customers spend time. The page explains it step by step. Members of the live chat site buy points. The points are used up every minute while the member is logged in to the virtual floor. The amount the customer spends becomes the worker's points, and those points become her pay. The page sums it up: 「1分毎にあなたの報酬が発生している」 (your reward accrues every minute). That makes this a pay-per-minute arrangement on the commission route.
Three chat types are named:
- Party chat (パーティーチャット): one woman with several members in the room at once, and the page says 「会員様は何人でも入室可能」 (any number of members can enter). It says the more people connected and the longer they stay, the more points build up.
- Two-shot chat (2ショットチャット): one member and one woman alone. The page says regulars tend to use this format, and that it suits a worker who wants steady earnings from one person.
- Two-way chat (双方向チャット): the member shows himself on his own screen. The woman appears as her character, so her own appearance is never shown.
Two pay structures are described. The first is commission (歩合制), where earnings follow the points customers spend. The second is a fixed hourly rate, which the page in October 2026 words as 「時給2000円からの固定給制もご用意しています」 (a fixed-pay hourly system from 2000 yen is also available), with the note that conditions may apply. Under the hourly route the page says pay accrues even while waiting with no customer present. It recommends starting on the hourly system for a beginner or for someone who has not yet built regulars, then moving to commission once customers appear, because commission pays more at that stage and staying on the hourly system would then be a loss, though the page still calls pay for waiting time a strong advantage. The worker can switch between the two at her own timing. The page adds that the hourly route is popular because it pays more per hour than a part-time job at a convenience store or café, which is the company's comparison. For the chat menu itself it points to a separate page, 「報酬について」 (about rewards).
Support is described as training in customer service, conversation and acting, from staff who the site says have raised many performers into high earners. The site also says its staff know how to earn well in virtual live chat. Under the heading 「全国バーチャルルームへのご案内」 (a guide to virtual rooms nationwide) it lists rooms by region and prefecture: Hokkaido and Miyagi in the north, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama in Kanto, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi and Mie in Tokai, Yamanashi, then Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Hyogo in Kansai, Okayama, and Fukuoka and Okinawa in the south.
The site pitches the job as a side income. It says it welcomes people who want to work without their main employer finding out, and people who do not want parents or a husband to find out and so want to stay within a dependent allowance (扶養内). It adds that the company will never phone a worker's home or workplace. It also says most people who now report high earnings started with no experience, and that the job costs no money or time to begin, unlike training as a voice actor or VTuber. For context it argues that virtual characters are now used in live streaming apps, matching apps, games, travel, toys and wedding services, so the site presents the virtual chat lady as part of a wider virtual-entertainment trend. That is background from the company's own text and not a market figure.
Money and rules
- Commission: a share of customer spending in points, accruing by the minute. The site does not publish the share.
- Hourly rate: the fixed-pay option described above, with pay during waiting time and conditions that may apply. The worker can move between the two systems when she chooses.
- Age: women 18 or over, with no age limit above.
- Earnings claims, all the site's own: it advertises hourly and monthly income figures for voice-only work and says many people have reported reaching them, most of them having started with no experience. These are marketing claims, not results a new worker can count on.
- Anonymity: because the work is voicing a character, the page says there is no chance at all that anyone will learn the worker's face. It also says customers are never met in person, and exchanging contact details is banned. It says the company will not contact the worker's home or workplace.
- Tax: the page says an advising tax accountant (顧問税理士) supports tax, dependent-status and income planning.
- The site does not publish a payout schedule or method.
Who it suits
The listing suits a woman who speaks and reads Japanese, wants to keep her face and identity out of view, and is comfortable performing as a character by voice alone. The hourly option helps a beginner, since pay continues while waiting for customers. Someone who would rather not manage an audience or a camera setup can use the company's chat site and rooms.
The caveats are worth weighing. The commission route is described in points rather than a percentage, so a worker judges it by the hourly floor until she has regulars. The big income figures are marketing claims, and the hourly rate carries conditions the page does not spell out. The work is only for Japanese speakers and only for women. Applying through LINE means the first contact is a chat conversation, not a document. There is no route for bringing an existing audience, and nothing on the page covers non-voice work.
