What Chaturbate is
Chaturbate is a cam site that pays broadcasters, its word for models, and also runs an affiliate program for people who send it viewers, new broadcasters or other affiliates. Broadcasters are paid a fixed value for each token they receive, twice a month. Registration is free: the broadcaster page says "Signup is easy and free, so you can start earning real money," and lists "Free Registration" first among its benefits. In October 2026 the same page reads "Earn 5 Cents per Token Received". Its help center is offered in English, Spanish, French and Russian. A reader who wants a large open cam site with a fixed token value, many payout methods and a referral program on the side should read on; a reader who needs a percentage split rather than a per-token rate will find the site prices it per token.
How earning works here
Everything a viewer spends goes through tokens. The broadcaster page explains that the site uses tokens, "our virtual currency, to let the viewer pay you for private shows, selling videos and photos, tips for live shows, and even for members joining your fan club." Once verified, it says, "you choose how you want to earn, whether it be for live streaming, private shows, selling videos and photos, or by building your fan club." The help center's broadcaster guide backs that up with a section called Ways To Earn More, holding four articles: Start a Chaturbate Fan Club, Upload Content, Sell Access to Your Social Media, and Join the Affiliate Program. So one account covers the live room, tips, private shows, a paid fan club, video and photo sales and social media access, the mix that other businesses split into separate fan platforms and clip stores.
Private shows are priced per minute in tokens, at a rate the broadcaster sets. As of October 2026 the site footer groups private shows into five rate bands, from "6 Tokens per Minute" up to "90+ Tokens per Minute". The FAQ adds articles on private show recordings, buying tickets to a show, spying on a private show and Cam To Cam (C2C), and on fan club pricing, including what happens when a broadcaster changes a fan club price.
The signup form asks for a username, a password, a birthday and an identity, with the email address marked optional. A broadcaster registers as one of "A Woman, A Man, A Couple, Trans, Transfemme, Transmasc, Non-binary", so couples, trans and non-binary performers each have a stated place at signup. The guide also has an article on camming with friends using guest accounts. The equipment list is short: a PC or laptop, Windows or Mac, high speed internet access and a webcam.
The broadcaster guide is organized as a path. Chaturbate 101 covers getting started, getting age verified, how the NEW tag works, rules and safety, and increasing your income. Setting up your stream covers camming equipment and technical requirements. Broadcasting Tips covers settings and privacy, show types, apps, username colors and getting users into your room. Customize Your Room covers interactive toys and the bio. A further tips section covers streaming with OBS, RTMP settings, XSplit, the site's video points of presence and ingest points, and broadcasting with a DSLR camera. The FAQ answers whether a broadcaster can stream from a mobile device and how the hashtag system works, and an Apps & Bots section explains room apps and how to get a custom app made. There are also health and wellness articles on sexual and mental health.
Control over the audience is part of the pitch. The broadcaster page says a performer can "Control who can see your profile and cam feeds and you can't be pressured into anything you don't want to do," and lists "Discreet Account Management". The FAQ covers country filters, blocking a country, region or state from viewing a cam, blocking followers, and a chat safety feature called Chatursafe.
Studios have their own help section, with articles titled "Studio accounts," "How do I see my studio stats?" and "Can I add a pre-existing broadcaster to my studio account?" So the site supports an operator who manages several broadcasters and tracks their numbers.
The affiliate program is the second way to earn, and it pays either a flat amount per free signup or a revenue share on token purchases, plus bounties for referred broadcasters and referred affiliates. The affiliate page, read in October 2026, names four routes:
- Free signups: the page's headline is "Earn $1.00 Per Free Signup", and it explains that registration needs neither an email address nor a credit card. That is the Tier 1 rate; the terms pay far smaller amounts on Tier 2 and Tier 3 signups.
- Members: as the alternative to pay per free signup, the page says "20% rev-share will be paid on all token purchases from referred traffic."
- Broadcasters: the page says "$50.00 will be paid for every registered user who has earned $20.00 broadcasting on Chaturbate.com," with no special link code needed.
- Other affiliates: the page says "5% rev-share will be paid on all affiliate earnings from referred webmasters," again with no special link code.
The affiliate menu lists Program Details, Payment Info, Linking Codes, Promo Tools, Stats and Affiliate Support. The help center's Affiliates section adds articles on a tokens per signup program, postbacks for affiliates and missing referral bonuses. An affiliate who promotes by link gets linking codes, promo tools, stats and conversion postbacks. The program also offers white label sites to people who run their own domain. The site pitches its "Genuinely Free" model to affiliates, saying a visitor can use free cams and adult chat "without being charged a cent".
Money and rules
- Payout model: a fixed value per token received. Tokens are how viewers pay for tips, private shows, fan club joins and content sales, and the broadcaster page quotes no percentage split.
- Schedule and methods: "Twice Monthly Payouts (Direct Deposit, ePayService, Paxum, Skrill, COSMO pay, Cryptocurrency, Check or Wire payments)." The payouts help section adds article titles for ACH, SEPA, Canada EFT, payment by check by mail or FedEx, and Cosmo Payment.
- Joining cost: free registration, as above.
- Age and ID: "Every member must be age verified in order to begin earning tokens," and the site "only provides payouts to those members that provide proof of 18+ age." After the form, a broadcaster is asked to upload copies of ID, and the page says "It may take up to 24 hours for staff to verify your account allowing you to earn tokens."
- Tax: the FAQ has an article on getting a 1099 tax form, and the guide has one on DAC7.
- Copyright: a DMCA section covers placing a DMCA badge on a stream and what to do when content appears on another site.
- Affiliate rates: as listed above, on the affiliate page.
The broadcaster page does not print a payout minimum, and the affiliate page does not define its signup tiers.
Who it suits and who it does not
Chaturbate fits a broadcaster who wants one free account that carries live shows, private shows, tips, a fan club, content sales and referrals, on a schedule she sets herself. Its fixed token value makes earnings easy to read: the site states what each token received is worth. The method list suits performers outside the US who want Paxum, ePayService, Skrill, Cosmo or crypto as well as bank options. Couples, trans and non-binary performers are named on the form. An affiliate with adult traffic can choose between per-signup and revenue share payment, and postbacks suit one who tracks conversions closely. A studio operator gets studio accounts and stats.
The caveats are specific. Earnings are priced per token, so a model comparing percentage splits elsewhere has to work from the token value and her own rates. Payouts run twice a month, not weekly. Age verification must clear before any token counts, which can take up to 24 hours. The per-signup affiliate rate falls steeply by tier, and the tiers are not defined on the affiliate page.
