What Stripchat is

Stripchat is a live cam platform that pays models and studios who broadcast to its viewers, and its model page is headed "Become a Stripchat Model & Get Paid for Camming". Registration asks only for a username and an email address, to which a password is sent; the model page calls it "Super quick registration" and promises "No extra equipment or software". The site runs in dozens of interface languages, from German, French and Spanish to Japanese, Thai and Arabic, and fr.stripchat.com is the French version, so a model broadcasts into an international audience rather than one market. Models, couples, men and trans performers all have their own sections, and a separate studio account serves operators who manage several models.

The terms describe the operator as a Cyprus company with registration number HE349515, and they are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, with arbitration seated there.

How earning works on Stripchat

Live shows for tokens. Viewers buy token packages and spend them in a model's room. The model page lists the live earners under "Stream live & get rich in so many ways": tips, a tip menu where she prices specific acts in tokens, Vibrotoys that viewers control by tipping, games and goals, and ticket shows. The viewer side adds polls on what happens next. For one-to-one work the model page lists "Private & Exclusive Private shows", "Receive Private tips", "Earn with paid spying", "Sell recorded shows" and "Get Private requests offline", and the about page describes a 1-on-1 video call ("Video call whenever you like") and "Recordable Private shows". The category filters group private shows by four token price bands, and list spy shows, ticket shows, VR cams and cam-to-cam calls as show types. A model can broadcast from a phone ("Stream on mobile") or through OBS, and the signup page lists "Mobile/OBS/HD/VR broadcasting".

Messages and content. Under "Earn with messages" the model page lists content sale, voice messages, mass messages and pay-to-send photos. Under "Sell photos & videos" it says "Keep earning outside of streaming" and shows a photo locked behind a token price. That is the clip-store side: a model sells photos, videos and recorded shows from her profile between streams. The terms add that any content uploaded is pre-moderated, and that the site "only accepts content depicting persons registered and verified in its Website".

Subscribers and referrals. The "Other perks" list includes a "Fan Club" ("Get your very own group of paying subscribers") and a referral program for models who bring in other users. In October 2026 the model page words it as "Earn an extra 20% with referred users".

Getting found. The model page says "The more you broadcast, the more viewers add you to Favorites!" and that with the recommendation system "We make sure your audience finds you". New models get a "30-day New Model Promotion, up to 80 hrs of streaming", and the signup page lists monthly contest money and "17 ways of making money". Audience size is quoted two ways: "200M+ monthly visitors" on the signup page and "1 Billion monthly visits" on the model page, both the company's own figures. A "Your potential income" block shows an hourly amount "Based on average data in your region", which is the site's illustration, not a rate.

Studios. The menu lists "Become a Model", "Studio Signup" and "Webcam Affiliate Program". The studio signup takes the same username and email and promises a "30-day New Model Promotion", "Chargeback protection", "Detailed statistics" and a "Friendly and helpful Support team". The terms refer to separate Rules for Models and Rules for Studios.

Men, trans performers and couples. The navigation splits Girls, Couples, Guys and Trans, and the model page names male, female and trans performers under the line "LGBTQ+ friendly community". The about page claims "More than 100,000 models".

Money and rules

The split, with its working shown. Stripchat pays the model a share of what is left of a token purchase after its own marketing spend, processing fees and taxes, not a share of the viewer's payment. In October 2026 the model page gives "a real example of how much you can make" for a token package bought to tip: 20% goes to "drive new users to Stripchat", processing fees and taxes come off next, and of the amount left "After processing fees, taxes, and other expenses" the page shows "89 % Your share" against 11% for Stripchat. The page adds that "Numbers may vary depending on currency, package amount, and payment method".

Payouts. "Weekly payouts Regular, secure, transparent" and "Multiple payout methods Choose where you prefer getting paid". The site does not list the methods or a minimum.

Protection. "Chargeback protection User refunds or not, you keep your tips." "GEO-ban Choose countries and regions that cannot see you." "DMCA protection We help models keep their content safe", with a DMCA Protection link under support, which the signup page pairs with "24/7 support".

Verification. The terms require everyone who uploads content to verify identity with "a clear copy of a valid government issued identification document with a photo and a selfie holding the identification document"; unverified uploads stay unpublished, and false information can lead to a permanent block. Users must be at least 18, or the age of majority where that is higher. The footer states "All models appearing on this site have contractually confirmed to us that they are 18 years of age or older" and links an 18 U.S.C. 2257 Record-Keeping Requirements Compliance Statement. Uploads need written consent and releases from every identifiable person in them.

Recording. Models can let users record their shows in account settings; the terms say recordings are "for personal entertainment only", and a model must check that setting before each broadcast.

Content rights and moderation. Under the terms a model keeps the copyright in what she uploads and grants the site a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and perpetual license to use it, and grants other users a right to display, stream and download it for personal use. The terms say models are verified through a third-party KYC solution together with manual moderation, and that uploaded photos and videos are pre-moderated before they are published. A model who broadcasts with her face hidden can be asked to verify her face during the stream, and the terms say the stream is stopped until she does. On the buyer side the terms state that tips are gifts and cannot be reversed, while tokens may be refunded at the site's discretion after a provably unsatisfactory private show.

Who it suits and who it does not

Stripchat suits a model who wants many income lines under one account: public tipping shows, tip menus and toys, privates and spy shows, video calls, paid messages, a fan club and photo and video sales. It fits a model who streams from a phone as much as one running OBS on a desktop. Male, trans and couple performers have their own sections. A new model with no following gets a 30-day promotion of up to 80 hours of streaming plus the recommendation system, and a model worried about being seen at home can geo-ban countries and regions. Studios get their own account type with statistics and chargeback protection, and the weekly payout suits anyone managing cash flow week to week.

The caveats are specific. The headline share applies after a marketing cut and processing fees in the site's own example, so it is smaller when measured against what the viewer paid. Payout methods and the minimum are not listed, and the studio and affiliate terms have no figures here. A very large audience also means a crowded directory once the promotion window closes.
