What ImLive is
ImLive is a live video chat site that recruits performers it calls Hosts and pays them a share of what members spend on them. Joining as a Host is free: the host FAQ asks "Do I need to pay for anything?" and answers "No!", adding that being a Video Chat Host is "entirely FREE". The Host agreement is with IML S.L.U., a company organized under the laws of the Principality of Andorra, and the sign-up page describes ImLive as offering entertainment to millions of members "since 2002". The host pages are in English. Besides the Host route there is a separate studio sign-up and studio login, so studios that manage performers have their own door.
That is the quick read. ImLive is a per-minute marketplace where the Host sets a price within the site's range, earns from paid chats, tips in free shows, recorded videos and tutorials, and can add income by bringing in new paying members. The agreement says pay goes out twice a month, through a third party payment service the Host chooses, once a period's earnings reach a set minimum, and that chargebacks and refunds can cancel earnings.
How earning works
The core product is the video chat session. The FAQ says a Host gets paid "every time an ImLive Member begins a paid chat with you or you host a Candy Show", and that members send tips or vibes in these shows. Members pay with ImLive Credits; the agreement adds that credits handed out by the company as a bonus, called ImLive Treat Credits, can be used in a Candy Show. Buyers find a Host on the member-facing site through a directory with filters. Its transgender cams section, for example, says members can narrow a search by age, number of viewers, show rating and more, and that they can watch free cams or pay for a paid show.
The Host's pay is a commission on what members spend, and the host FAQ describes it in the site's own words. In October 2026, under "What will I be earning?", it says "The amount of your commission depends on you" and that a Host "can receive between 27% & 100% of what Members pay." It goes on: "For every ImLive Credit you earn, you are paid $1 USD and prices per minute range from 0.98 to 14.90 - depending on your category, what you decide to charge, your seniority, and the rating you are given by your Members." The license agreement adds that a Host may set and negotiate pricing with viewers "on condition that Host complies with the minimum price as determined by ImLive."
The agreement explains where in that range a Host lands, by naming the fee ImLive keeps in the "Live Sex Chat" zone. As of October 2026 the standard company fee is 73% of what members pay per minute of chat, with a slightly lower fee on what they pay to view a Host's videos and other materials. 'Hall Of Fame' and 'ImLive Diamond' Hosts are charged a lower per-minute fee than the standard one. When a Host brings a new member to the site, the fee on what that member spends chatting with that Host drops to less than half the standard rate. When a member pays with bonus credits, the fee rises well above the standard rate for every Host tier. Sessions booked as 30 or 60 minute blocks carry the same fee as above, and the agreement sets separate rules for its Special Deals sites and for celebrity Hosts above a set price per minute.
Video chat is not the only line. The FAQ lists Professional Videos, Expert Tutorials and members joining a Host's Discount Club as further earnings, "depending on what category of Host you are", and says these extras "will keep the money flowing into your account even when you're not online!" The agreement says prices for tutorials, Q&A and other materials are set by the company rather than the Host. In a Discount Club a member redeems credit up front for a discount on a Host's rate; ImLive keeps all of that up-front redemption, then the usual fee applies to the discounted rate.
Referrals are the other income stream. The FAQ says a Host also earns "commission for referring Guests who become NEW paying Members of ImLive, even if they spend Credit on another Host." The sign-up page calls it the "BEST REFERRAL PROGRAM IN THE INDUSTRY", its own claim, and in October 2026 puts the split in one line: "For every new Paying Member referred by you, you get: 70% COMMISSION from your room (active income) + 30% REVSHARE from colleagues' rooms (passive income)." The agreement also says ImLive may sell a Host's images and recordings to third party sites, and pays the Host a minority share of its revenue from that use.
The sign-up page lists the support a Host gets: access to "tens of millions of Members, with tens of thousands of new Members joining daily", which is the site's own audience claim, "innovative promotional tools and hundreds of exciting features", competitions "where you can win cash prizes, luxury gifts and more", active Host forums and customer service 24/7. The agreement adds a chat system, a message center for member messages, and an account page with up-to-date transactions and statistics. The FAQ says no special technical skills are needed; a webcam, an internet connection and a computer are the stated kit.
Money and rules
- Payout model: a commission on what members pay per minute and for recorded material, with the company fees described above set in the agreement. Fees are calculated in US dollars whatever currency the member used.
- Schedule: the sign-up page says "Get paid every two weeks", and the agreement says payments usually go out on the 16th of the month and the 1st of the next. In October 2026 the agreement sets the payout threshold for each period at "a minimum of fifty dollars (USD $50)".
- Method: the Host chooses a third party payment service, and the agreement says money usually reaches the Host within 3-5 business days after ImLive's transfer. It does not name the services.
- Deductions: chargebacks, refunds and system failures can cancel earnings, fines can be deducted, and ImLive may withhold earnings while it investigates a suspected breach or fraud. Hosts handle their own taxes.
Every Host must be at least 18. The agreement describes live capture of the Host's face, the government-issued photo ID front and back, and the Host holding that ID, checked with third party verification vendors, plus a verification step at the start of each livestream. It ties this to the 2257 Regulations and says Hosts located in the US must provide US documents. The FAQ notes photo ID is "not necessary for all Host categories". Only performers approved on the account may appear on camera. Sexually explicit content is allowed only in the "Live Sex Chat" zone, and a Host must never portray themselves as under 18. The agreement lists forbidden content, including bestiality, incest, depictions of rape, violence and any material involving minors, which the site says it will "report all instances to the authorities". ImLive may restrict Hosts in any country at its discretion, and the agreement grants it a perpetual, exclusive license to a Host's images and recorded sessions.
Who it suits and who it does not
ImLive suits a performer who wants control over price and a clear fee table. A Host with regulars and ratings can climb into the Hall Of Fame or Diamond tiers, where the fee is lower, and a Host who brings members of their own keeps most of what those members spend with them. Studios have their own sign-up path, though the host pages do not set out studio terms.
It suits less well a new Host who reads the top of the advertised range as a promise: the standard company fee applies to ordinary chat minutes until a Host reaches a named tier or brings their own members. Bonus-credit minutes pay far less, and the exclusive, perpetual image license is a real cost for anyone who wants to control their recordings. The agreement also leaves the payment services unnamed.
