What 4Based is

4Based is a fan subscription platform for adult creators, and it pays the creators who sell subscriptions, locked posts, paid messages and tips on it. The directory nsfw-tools.com describes it as a content subscription platform focused on the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) that combines OnlyFans-style monetization with Instagram-like social discovery. The same page lists a referral program that pays lifetime commissions, and calls 4Based a European platform built for the German-speaking market with a German interface and local branding.

Most of what is published about 4Based in English comes from agencies, software vendors and rival platforms. Several of the outlets quoted below sell competing platforms or tools, and where they disagree, both versions are given with the name of the outlet that wrote them.

Who it is for is clearer than what it pays. The outlets agree that 4Based is a German-speaking market play. Creators wanting a global English-speaking audience are pointed elsewhere, mostly to OnlyFans.

How earning works on 4Based

According to nsfw-tools.com, creators earn through subscriptions, pay-per-view content, paid messaging and tips, plus the referral program. It says creators build profiles, share photos and videos, chat with fans and lock premium content behind paywalls or per-message fees. Both nsfw-tools.com and the agency Maho Management single out the price-per-message feature as something OnlyFans does not offer, and Maho calls it a niche lever next to pay-per-view. nsfw-tools.com also lists a blog, a webshop and an affiliate system among the features, and says 4Based runs as a Progressive Web App in the browser without installation.

What sets 4Based apart on nsfw-tools.com is the feed. Followers can like, comment and interact publicly, so a post can spread inside the platform without paid ads. The page contrasts this with subscription-only platforms, where a creator's content stays behind a profile until a fan already knows to look for it.

Other writers are less optimistic about discovery. Maloum, a competing German-language platform, says on its comparison page that creators who have tested 4based consistently report very little organic traffic on the platform itself. It adds that 4based offers limited self-promotion tools and no main page visibility for individual creators, so every fan a creator has there is one they found themselves through their own social media work. That is a competitor's claim, and it sits against the nsfw-tools.com line that new creators benefit from lower competition and organic visibility. Fanschart, which ranks OnlyFans alternatives, sides with Maloum and names weak in-platform discovery as the main drawback.

The Maloum page also gives a short view of the product's range. Its FAQ says 4Based focuses mainly on subscriptions for adult creators, while Maloum offers more monetization options such as product sales and personal support. A blog post by the agency ANIK Studios, comparing OnlyFans with other portals, calls 4Based a relatively new platform. It credits 4Based with modern functions built to improve interaction between creators and followers, including improved chat features and interactive tools, and says the platform places great emphasis on privacy and provides resources and guides for content creation. The same post lists lower visibility and limited monetization options compared with OnlyFans as drawbacks and says 4Based offers competitive payout rates.

Maho Management, in its OnlyFans versus 4Based article, gives the most practical playbook. Its advice is not to open a 4Based account before OnlyFans. It suggests stabilizing OnlyFans first, then opening 4Based as a second channel and inviting the 20 to 50 best German-speaking fans over, positioned as an exclusive "German-only" room. Its reasoning is that the second account then adds revenue and does not cannibalize the first. Maho also warns that OnlyFans rules explicitly ban advertising other paid platforms in DMs and posts, and recommends an external landing page, such as Linktree or the creator's own domain, that lists both channels. Direct cross-posts, it says, risk warnings up to bans in both directions.

On the fan side, Maho and Maloum both say 4Based accepts SEPA, Sofort, PayPal, Apple Pay and credit card. Maho treats that as an advantage for a creator selling to German-speaking fans, because the credit card is less of a default in DACH than in the US.

On tooling, Maho describes the chat and pay-per-view tools as basic: 4Based has pay-per-view, but bulk sending, tagging and scheduling are rudimentary, and there is no CRM-style tool for segmenting fans. Maho states that as of April 2026 the management tool Infloww does not support 4Based, so every DM has to be worked more manually. The vendor UserFlow, which sells a CRM, bot and translator for agencies working on Maloum and 4Based, says its tool runs on 4Based with the full feature set. That is a vendor's claim about its own product. The agency Bunny Agency names 4Based among the additional platforms it manages for creators.

Money and rules

The model is a revenue share: the platform keeps a commission on what fans pay and the creator receives the remainder. The published figures for that commission differ by outlet, and in October 2026 they read as follows.

  • nsfw-tools.com says the platform takes 15-30% depending on the program, and in its revenue section roughly 30%.
  • UserFlow, the agency software vendor, gives the base commission as roughly 30% and says it is higher than on OnlyFans.
  • Maloum and Maho Management both put it at 15 to 20% depending on the creator program, and Fanschart writes of a 15% cut.

The referral program is the second income line. As of October 2026, nsfw-tools.com describes it as a lifetime 10% referral commission on fans and creators a creator brings. UserFlow describes the referral model as a share of invited creators' earnings, and Maho says it lets creators share revenue with each other.

On payouts, nsfw-tools.com and Maloum both say they are processed through Swiss Media Factoring GmbH. Maho Management says 4Based offers direct SEPA payouts, infrastructure in Germany and German-language processor-agreement documents, and calls it the more GDPR-friendly option for creators who want a tax-clean commercial setup in DACH. It adds that a SEPA payout usually lands in the business account of German, Austrian and Swiss creators faster than an international transfer. Maloum's comparison, read in October 2026, puts the minimum payout threshold at 50 dollars. None of these outlets gives a payout schedule or the ID verification steps. UserFlow suggests reading the terms yourself and testing the payout with a small amount first.

Reputation checks are mixed. ScamAdviser concludes that 4based.com seems legit and safe to use, notes that the domain was registered several years ago, and records both positive and negative reviews. WOT shows no security score and no community reviews. Semrush data dated August 15, 2026 gives 4based.com a worldwide rank of 57,727, a Germany rank of 5,624 and 826.25K visits.

Who it suits and who it does not

Maho Management says 4Based is right for German-speaking creators with a strong DACH fanbase who are already established on OnlyFans and want a second channel for native German-speaking "whales". It also names the platform as a backup account against the risk of losing an OnlyFans main account, and says it would be a sole main platform only in exceptional cases, for example when OnlyFans payouts are unavailable. nsfw-tools.com makes a similar case, calling it a GDPR-compliant secondary platform that sits alongside OnlyFans as a second channel.

A creator whose promotion already runs on German-language social channels is the third case Maho names, because that traffic can be routed to 4Based without losing fans to a language break. Agencies managing German-speaking creators are the other clear audience. UserFlow and Maho both write for them and both describe the DACH language, payment and legal setup as the draw.

Three caveats apply. First, reach: Maho says 4Based is smaller than OnlyFans and not large enough to close the reach and tooling gap, and Maloum's traffic criticism applies to anyone without an existing audience. Second, the fee: two outlets put the base commission above OnlyFans, so a creator needs revenue per fan that justifies it. Maho makes this point directly, saying a fee is a cost line and not a revenue lever. Third, language: nsfw-tools.com says creators wanting a global, English-speaking mass audience will find more reach on OnlyFans. A creator with no German-speaking following and no plan to build one should not expect 4Based to supply fans.
