What Fanvue is
Fanvue is a fan subscription platform that pays creators for subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view messages, bundles and custom content, and lets creators earn commissions by promoting each other through a Creator Affiliate Programme. Its creator payout policy forms part of an agreement with Shift Holdings Ltd, and the policy sets a standard creator rate as a share of gross revenue, with the rest kept as platform fees. The about page calls it the leading AI-powered creator monetization platform, and much of its tooling, from AI messaging to AI voice notes and analytics, is built around that. Content made entirely with AI is allowed under its own policy, which sets disclosure and verification rules for AI creators.
The about page gives the company's own figures, "17M+ monthly active users" and "325,000+ creators on Fanvue", alongside revenue and funding milestones it credits to Forbes coverage. These are the company's claims about itself. The about page dates the start to 2020, when the founders "were managing creators" and built their own platform.
How earning works on Fanvue
The payout policy defines the scope: "Creators are entitled to receive Creator Earnings on all qualifying Paid-for Services transacted via the Platform, including subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view messages, bundles, and custom content."
Subscriptions and paywalled content. The homepage lists "Monthly Subscriptions & Paywalled Content" to "Build recurring income on your terms", and the new-creator hub has a "Subscription Pricing & Retention Guide" and "Your First Week With a New Fan". The help center files creator material under separate collections for content and posting, subscribers and messaging, growth and discoverability, and trust, safety and compliance.
Tips, PPV and the vault. The hub includes "Tips & Gifts: How to Earn More From Them", "PPV Media: A Creator's Strategy Guide" and "Turning your Vault into recurring income". Mass messaging is covered under "Driving Revenue Without Spamming", and promotions under "Running Profitable Promotions".
AI tools. The homepage lists AI Analytics & Earning Insights, AI Voice Calls, AI Voice Notes, and an App Store & Open API "designed for AI builders". The help center adds AI Messaging, an AI Creator Coach and linked accounts for running several creator profiles. The about page says most creators on Fanvue actively use at least one of its proprietary AI tools.
AI creators. The AI content policy says Fanvue allows fully AI-generated content and deepfaked or face-swapped content, but "you MUST verify the real model behind the AI". Content taken from other websites or creators without explicit authorization is not allowed, and AI media must be disclosed clearly and prominently in the profile bio, a caption or a watermark, or it may be removed. AI media must not be of a real person other than the account owner, and all AI content has to pass what the policy calls a "Reasonable Person's Test" run by three or more members of the moderation team. Consequences for breaking the rules range from a warning or removal to an earnings deduction, suspension or a permanent ban.
Traffic and checkout links. A hub article covers "Getting Fans to Your Fanvue: Socials & Link-in-Bio", and the homepage lists "Payments, Payouts and Checkout Links". Creators can geo-block users, add manager accounts and request API keys.
Creator Affiliate Programme. Creators can "promote other creators and earn a commission when fans sign up and spend through affiliate links". A creator who wants to be promoted creates an offer and sets the commission rate; the announcement says this is the percentage of their own net earnings they will share when someone brings in a paying fan. The rate can be changed later, but affiliates who already accepted keep the original rate. Affiliates browse offers, accept one, and share a unique link on socials, blogs or messages. Commission applies to subscriptions, renewals and one-time purchases. The announcement, read in October 2026, says commission "is paid for a period of 36 months from the date of their registration, subject to a maximum of $50,000 USD per creator you're referring for"; affiliate earnings "are processed after 28 days"; and a creator can act as affiliate for up to 5 promoted creators at once. A dashboard tracks clicks, conversions and commissions. "Affiliate links cannot be revoked once accepted. Only the affiliate can revoke the link."
Money and rules
The payout model is a revenue share on gross revenue, with payouts on request once funds clear a pending period. As read in October 2026, the policy states: "Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the standard Creator Earning Rate is 80% of gross revenue from Paid-for Services, with the remaining 20% retained by Fanvue as Platform Fees." Fanvue may also run a temporary Promotional Earning Rate, such as "an increased creator share for newly-onboarded creators during an introductory window", and may adjust the rate for partnership agreements case by case. Creator Earnings are calculated exclusive of taxes, fees and third-party processing charges, and can be adjusted for refunds, chargebacks or fraud.
A creator can request a payout of the available balance at any time once funds clear the Pending Period and meet "the minimum threshold applicable to your chosen withdrawal method". "The standard Pending Period is seven (7) days", extendable "up to twenty-eight (28) days" depending on verification and activity. Supported methods may include direct bank transfer, crypto wallets where supported, and third-party wallets; the help center has guides for the MassPay and Cosmo eWallets and articles on payout fees, earning rate changes and the difference between pending and available balance. Fanvue aims "to initiate all valid Payout requests within ten (10) Business Days of receipt". A missing or wrong payout must be reported within 30 days.
Earnings are "paid gross of tax", and the creator handles their own taxes; Fanvue may issue self-billing invoices, VAT invoices or 1099s. A balance with no payout request for 12 months is classified as dormant after email and in-product reminders, and the policy sets out different consequences for UK and EEA, US and rest-of-world creators. Refunds and chargebacks are deducted from the balance, and the policy read in October 2026 says: "If your account exceeds a 1.5% chargeback or dispute rate in any rolling 30-day period, we may impose a $50 USD (FIFTY US DOLLARS) administrative fee for each additional dispute." ID and KYC verification are required, with help articles on getting verified.
Who it suits and who it does not
Fanvue suits a creator who wants subscriptions, PPV, tips and custom content alongside AI tools for messaging, voice and analytics, and it is a clear option for AI-generated creators, provided the real model behind any deepfake is verified. Creators who do shout-outs can turn them into tracked commissions through the affiliate program. The about page pitches it to "a mainstream artist, athlete, or digital-native creator" alike, and the site promotes its own AI Personality of the Year Awards. A creator with a manager or team can add manager accounts rather than share a login.
The caveats: the standard rate applies to gross revenue, but any affiliate commission a creator offers comes out of that creator's net earnings, and an accepted affiliate link cannot be revoked by the promoted creator. The policy gives a standard Pending Period of seven (7) days that risk checks can extend, and the announcement says affiliate earnings are processed after 28 days. A high chargeback or dispute rate can bring an administrative fee per dispute, and a balance left without a payout request can be lost as dormant.
