What the business is
Zauberhafte Telefonfeen (the name translates as magical phone fairies) is a German phone sex and flirt line that recruits women to take calls from home as "Telefonistinnen". Its jobs page frames the work as "Telefonerotik von zu Hause aus" (phone erotica from home). Operators are paid a per-minute commission, settled once a month by bank transfer, and joining costs nothing. The FAQ answers the question about costs or PIN fees with "Nein, es gibt keine Kosten, für nichts." (No, there are no costs, for anything.) Training and training material are free as well. The home page asks for women between 18 and 99, says the team has stood beside its operators since 2004, and offers the work across Germany as a main job or a side job. Calls are in German. Next to the phone lines the company runs a text chat and an esoteric advice line, so it is a phone employer first and a chat employer second.
How earning works here
An operator receives a PIN, dials into a line system from her mobile or landline, and takes calls when she chooses. The FAQ says every system has free dial-in with no shift booking and no roster. She can go in and out of her line around the clock, 365 days a year, as often as she likes, and she can query her statistics with the same PIN.
The first decision is which system to work in. The home page names Livemoderation (also called LiveLine), several Callback systems, the Karussell system and a combined Chat-Call system. In Karussell the operator holds live calls and sends voice messages, or sends voice messages only, which the page compares to a WhatsApp voice message. Chat-Call mixes chatting and phoning. The FAQ tells professional operators with spare capacity that they can work in several line systems and move to whichever is busy.
Callback is the system the site describes most fully. The operator logs in through a dial-in number or an online access, hangs up and waits. Callers find her through an intro she has recorded beforehand, which the page likens to an answering machine greeting, and the company sends instructions and sample intros. She gets no advance information about a caller. Between calls she hangs up again, so she is not on the receiver for her whole working time. The page states "Das Callback ist eine reine Erotikline." (Callback is a purely erotic line.) It lists role play as the usual content and says fetish themes are comparatively uncommon there. On hours it says "Sie können so lange oder so kurz wie Sie möchten eingeloggt sein" (you can stay logged in as long or as briefly as you like), with afternoons, evenings and nights as the main time and mornings often quiet. A woman can also hold 2 callbacks with 2 PINs, and the page says of that option "Wir gewährleisten dadurch viele Gespräche und viele Minuten." (This is how we ensure many calls and many minutes.)
On equipment, the FAQ says mobile and landline both work in every system, but a landline is the better choice for call quality, and a mobile does not work on every Callback PIN. A headset helps and is not required. The home page adds that dialing in over Skype telephony is possible.
What she says on a call is her own decision. The FAQ puts it as "Die Gesprächsinhalte bestimmt jede Telefonistin in Heimarbeit selbst." (Every home-based operator decides the content of her calls herself.) The company supplies training material, and outside the legal exclusions the content is free. The jobs page compares the operator to an actress in a play who works with voice and words, and notes that some callers only want to talk.
The chat side runs through what the FAQ calls THE LADYS CHAT. A chatter or chat moderator works from home on the same terms as a phone operator, but writes what an operator would say. The chat lets her send photos, which the FAQ says are not of the chatter herself, and phone chat partners directly. Some operators work the phone line and the chat at once. The combined Chat-Call system is part of the phone operator contract, while the 1:1 IN-Chat takes only chatters with enough experience for now.
New operators are not left alone. The FAQ promises free training material and a professional operator as contact person, and says a newcomer should not expect to work like a professional from the start. Support is available by phone at fixed hours, by email and by WhatsApp, under the motto "Liebevoll, ohne Druck" (loving, without pressure).
The earnings FAQ names 3 factors. Time comes first: the more hours an operator spends in the line, the more minutes she works and the more she earns. The line system is second, because "Jedes Line-System ist anders vergütet" (each line system is paid differently). Call quality is third, meaning whether men like talking to her and call back.
Money and rules
Pay is commission by the minute, and it reaches the operator in one of two ways. Either the company issues a commission credit note ("Provisionsgutschrift"), or she writes her own invoices. The FAQ says credit notes come on the 15th of a month for the month before, and the bank transfers follow once a month after that. An operator who invoices can send her invoice at any time. A credit note itemizes the minutes and the earnings, and it is worded neutrally as "Teledienstleistung Homeoffice". The FAQ says words such as Erotikline appear on neither the credit note nor the transfer. No trade license ("Gewerbeschein") is required, tax is the operator's own responsibility, and an operator who is liable for VAT is paid it on her own invoices.
The payout rail is a bank transfer inside Germany. The FAQ is explicit that "wir keine Überweisungen ins Ausland oder auf Paypal - Konten vornehmen" (we make no transfers abroad or to PayPal accounts).
On rates, in October 2026 the home page advertises a possible maximum of 72 cents per minute, which it also prints as 43.20 euros per hour. That is the company's ceiling. A job ad on the same page calls pay system-dependent and, as the company's own figure, gives an average of 55 cents per minute beside the maximum. Both are the site's own advertising figures. The site does not publish the rate for each system, and the ad invites applicants to request the contract.
The rules as written:
- Women only. The FAQ says men are not taken on at present and no waiting list is kept. City job pages are headed "Telefonistin (w)".
- Legal age ("Volljährigkeit"), a phone, and a liking for talking.
- Work from abroad is possible only from within the EU. It needs a German landline number or a flat rate for calls to Germany, a registered business in the operator's own country and her own invoices. The FAQ rules out countries outside the EU and gives Thailand and India as examples.
- Forbidden content: any call with a person under 18, and any role play in which a person is under 18. Also banned are themes that glorify violence, including rape, racism and far-right statements, bestiality, sex between family members and pedophilia. The FAQ says operators hang up when a caller raises a forbidden topic, and the full list is in the contract documents.
- No notice period: "Nein, wir haben keine Kündigungsfrist." (No, we have no notice period.) An operator can quit at any time, orally or in writing, and can start again later.
To apply, a woman phones the application line, open Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 18.00, sends an email, or fills in a short form with her name, a phone number or email and an optional message. The form asks her to accept the privacy terms and the AGB (general terms), and it is the way to request the contract documents.
Who it suits and who it does not
The site addresses women who want home work with free hours and names several groups: pensioners, people on a disability pension, people with limitations or illnesses, recipients of state benefits, and anyone after a side job. It takes beginners as well as professionals and offers them training, which makes it a realistic first phone job for a German speaker. The range of systems lets a woman choose between staying logged in for long stretches on a Callback PIN and working a live line, and the chat adds a writing option for those with experience. Someone who wants discretion on paper gets it in the neutral credit notes and transfers.
It suits less well anyone who wants to know her exact rate before she applies, since pay depends on the system and the advertised figures are a ceiling and an average. It is not open to men. It is a poor fit for someone who needs PayPal or a foreign bank account, because the company rules both out, and anyone living outside Germany needs a registered business and must invoice herself. Earnings follow minutes on the line, so the site's own FAQ ties income to the time an operator can put in.
