What MYM is

MYM is a fan subscription platform where creators earn from subscriptions, private custom media sold through chat, media pushed to fans, an on-demand catalog, paid live shows and tips. Its home page, written in French, calls it an "exclusive social network" ("Réseau social exclusif") and says fans get access to the profiles of "plus de 100.000 Créateurs" (more than 100,000 creators) sharing content available only on MYM. That count is the site's own claim. MYM is created and run by AIR MEDIAS, a French simplified joint-stock company headquartered at 10 rue de Penthièvre in Paris, according to its terms of use, which open with "Bienvenue sur MYM, la plateforme qui permet aux créateurs de contenus de vivre de leur passion" (the platform that lets content creators make a living from their passion). The terms are in French and the fan-facing home page is French, while the help center comes in English, German, Spanish and French. Signing up as a user is free, and a creator registers through a separate creator page and becomes "certifié" (certified) once MYM accepts the documents it asks for.

How earning works

The terms list what a creator can sell. A subscription opens a creator's non-public media, which other users see blurred, and the creator alone sets its price and what it includes. Through the messaging, which comes with a subscription and which the creator chooses whether to switch on, a subscriber can request a "Média Privé" or "Média Personnalisé", a custom piece made to the fan's specifications. The terms say the creator has no obligation to accept such a request and may reuse the custom media on the platform, as long as it is not given away free. A "Média Push" is media a creator sends unprompted to one or more users through private messaging, and a paid push requires a subscription. The help center describes a redesigned push page with multi-selection from MYM Cloud, uploads of up to 5 media files at once, and "A calendar to see when your next weekly PUSH is available."

The on-demand catalog is a separate shelf. The terms define "MOD", "Media On Demand", as any media a creator offers in a dedicated library under a "Media On Demand" tab on the profile, and the help center says creators can now share their MODs with a link or straight to social networks. The home page pitches the same thing to fans: by subscribing they reach a creator's "catalogue de contenus supplémentaires" (catalog of extra content) and "lives privés rien que pour toi" (private lives just for you).

Live shows are covered in the terms: "Le Créateur pourra également diffuser des Lives sur la Plateforme" (the creator may also broadcast lives on the platform). The creator decides whether a live is free or paid, when it happens and how long it lasts, and sends an invitation. A paid live needs a ticket. Subscribers are invited automatically, and the creator can also invite former subscribers and interested users. During a live the creator can switch the chat on and off, mute a user, or ban them from the chat for as long as they choose.

Tips ("Pourboires") are credited to the creator's account like other earnings. Creators can also post stories that disappear after 72 hours, run contests under their own responsibility, and pick a charity at sign-up to give part of their earnings to, which the creator pays over themselves. The terms define the price a fan pays as money "ou de crypto actifs" (or crypto assets).

The terms spell out how discovery works. The terms say the feed shows 2/3 chronological media from creators a user follows, has subscribed to or has shown interest in, and the last 1/3 from creators MYM suggests to match the user's tastes. Search works by creator name only, not by content keyword. MYM can feature creators on its home page or in the feed, for editorial reasons or through a commercial partnership, which is then marked on the profile. "SuperStar" creators who meet criteria set on the support site get lower MYM fees ("Redevances plus basses"), a badge, a boost in search and access to certain payment methods.

The help center sorts fans into types. A subscriber is "a fan who has purchased a subscription to a creator's profile". A former subscriber loses access to blurred content but keeps earlier purchases. An interested fan has starred a profile, bookmarked or liked a post, or started a subscription without finishing it. Interested fans and former subscribers can receive special offers or gifts from the creator every 7 days through the MYM inbox, which gives a creator a built-in way back to fans who left.

The help center also logs creator tools: Creator Spotlight since 08/13/2024, which it says gives a profile "even more chances of being discovered"; post sorting; bulk post deletion; custom nicknames and groups for fans; a tag showing which media a fan already bought; a 1500-character limit for posts and pushes; tracking of refused payments; marking chats unread; blocking Google searches for a creator's nickname; and renaming MYM.cloud collections. Creators may run their messaging through a chatbot, an AI or an agent, and agencies must declare themselves to MYM and hold a contract with the creator.

The referral side runs through "Ambassadeurs": the terms say MYM lets ambassadors "parrainer des Créateurs" (refer creators) through a referral link, under separate referral terms ("Conditions Générales de Parrainage") with their own sign-up page, and an ambassador can refer other ambassadors as well as creators.

Money and rules

MYM's cut is defined but not quantified on these pages. The terms define the "Redevance" as "le pourcentage des gains du Créateur reversé à MYM" (the percentage of the creator's earnings paid to MYM) for the platform and services, and "Frais Bancaires" (bank fees) as a percentage of amounts processed, deducted from what users pay. Neither percentage, nor a payout threshold or schedule, is stated in the terms. The help center's article list does show pending and validated earnings, payment methods, a Professional account, invoices and income declarations, and an SMS code is required to change the IBAN on an account.

On tax, the terms say MYM gives creators information on the tax and social rules that apply to each transaction, a monthly summary of the previous month's transactions, and each January a statement of gross transactions for the year before.

On verification, "l'âge de tout Créateur fait l'objet d'une vérification, au moyen de sa pièce d'identité et d'un selfie où le créateur tient en main sa pièce d'identité" (every creator's age is checked with an ID document and a selfie holding it), processed by a third-party AI tool. A creator showing another person must hold proof of that person's consent and adulthood, and with several people MYM may ask for image-rights releases. The terms also describe enhanced KYC for all users, and every upload "est analysé par une solution d'intelligence artificielle lors de son téléchargement, avant sa publication" (is analyzed by AI before publication), which can block anything against the content or anti-exploitation policies. AI-made content must be labeled, and exchanging personal contact details with fans is forbidden.

Who it suits and who it does not

MYM suits a creator who sells through conversation and wants several products in one profile: a subscription, custom media on request, weekly pushes, an on-demand shelf and ticketed lives. The fan-type system and the weekly offers to lapsed fans suit someone working to win subscribers back, and the explicit feed and search rules let a creator see how discovery works. A creator with a French-speaking audience fits the fan-facing site best.

The caveats are the money and the language: a creator has to find MYM's percentage in the help center articles on fees, and the binding terms are French. Search finds creators only by name, and the extra visibility goes to SuperStars and paid placements. Every upload goes through AI review before it is published, which matters for content near a policy line.
